For quality assessment of 3D videos,a reduced-reference quality asses sment method is proposed based on discrete cosine transform (DCT) coefficients r eorganiz ation. The proposed method mainly includes three stages:4D data set constructing, DCT transforming and reorganizing and reduced-reference quality assessing. At th e 4D data set constructing stage, the 4D data set containing comprehensive information of 3D videos in spatial domain, view domain and temporal domain is constructed. At the DCT transforming and reorganizing stage, the data set is firstly transformed by 4D-DCT,and the reorganized coefficients set is obtained by choosing complex DCT coefficients and reorganizing them.At the reduced-reference quality assessment stage, each subband in the reo rganized DCT coefficients set is modelled by using generalized Gaussian distribution (GGD),and coefficients dista nce function and frequency ratio distance function are used to evaluate 3D video quality.Experimental results sh ow that the proposed method can achieve higher consistency with subjective assessment of 3D videos. Thus, the pr oposed algorithm conforms to human visual system (HVS).
