To improve the imaging quality of eyes implanted with intra-ocular lens (IOL),t he biconvex IOL with aspherical anterior surface is designed based on the idea of making up spherical aberration of cornea which is calculated by multigroup eyes as the off set-value.The imaging qualities of different model eyes implanted into the aspherical IOLs ar e analyzed with ray-tracing method using Zemax optical design software.The imaging qualities a re characterized with the modulation transfer function (MTF) and contrast sensitivity function (C SF).The results show that the MTF and CSF of eyes with aspherical IOL designed by us are better than those with spherical IOL.Furthermore,compared with the LI61U,Tecnis Z9000and SofPort A O with diopter 22D used in clinic as they are implanted into the Liou model eye, the aspherical IOL designed by us is better and shows relative outstanding optical perf ormance.
