    摘要:

    提出并实验验证了一种采用单个偏振调 制器(PolM)的八倍频微波信号光学产生方法。PolM在大 信号调制下产生多个高阶光边带,通过调节偏振控制器(PC)和检偏器,仅获得偶数阶光边带 ;合理调节其调制指数 (射频信号功率),使得二阶边带被完全抑制,四阶边带功率明显高于六阶及其它高阶边带 。采用光交错 滤波器进一步抑制光载波及六阶边带,仅保留四阶边带,经光电探测器(PD)拍频获得八倍频 微波信号。仿真方案选用25GHz和50GHz信道 间隔的光交错滤 波器,充分利用光交错滤波器的周期滤波特性,在4个频段范围内获得了连续可调的八倍 频微 波信号。实验结果和理论分析有效验证了所提出方案的可行性。

    Abstract:

    A photonic approach of frequency-octupling microwave signal generation using a si ngle polarization modulator (PolM) is theoretically investigated and experimentally verified.High order optical sidebands are generated under the condition of large-signal modulation.By carefully con trolling the polarization controller (PC) before the polarizer,only even-order sidebands are kept.The second-order sid ebands can be suppressed completely by adjusting the modulation depth (RF power level),while the fourth -order sideband power is significantly higher than those of the sixth-order sidebands and other high o rder sidebands simultaneously.Then an interleaver is adopted to suppress the optical carrier and the sixth ord er sidebands,so that the fourth-order sidebands are preserved.A frequency octupling microwave signal ca n be obtained by beating the two fourth-order sidebands at the photodetector (PD).The simulation platform and e xperiment system are established based on the theoretical analysis,and an interleaver with a channel spacing of 25or 50GHz is utilized.A continuously adjustable microwave si gnal with frequency oct upling is obtained within four different frequency ranges by making full use of the periodic filtering characteristics of the interleaver.The experimental results are in line with the theoretical analysis,so the feasibility o f the proposed scheme is verified.
