With the rapid development of the 3D imaging technology,the research of various factors influence on the visual comfort of stereoscopic images has been one of the most important tec hnologies to popularize the stereoscopic products.This paper concerns on the quantitative research of the hu e parameter influence on the visual comfort of binocular stereoscopic images,combining the characteristics of human visual system(HVS).With the improved limit method and the subjective assessment experiment,we not only defi ne the comfortable hue matching map and difference map but also verify the universal applicability of both two maps.According to the results of the experiment,the comfortable area occupies 48% of the total hue ar ea.With the changing of the hue, the hue dismatch threshold between the left view and the right view will vary in degree,and the maximum and minimum of the difference maximum threshold of binocular images are 129.3°and 46.1°,respectively,so it couldn′t be extremely different between the two views.With the two maps,we can judge whether a binoc ular stereoscopic image is comfortable rapidly and the accurate rate is very high,reaching 90%.The resear ch can provide a basis for the assessment of binocular stereoscopic image pairs and the development of stereosc opic display technology.
