A simple technique for achieving tunab le multi-wavelength Brillouin fiber laser(BFL) with double Brillouin frequen cy spacings is experimentally demonstrated,by utilizing a piece of 200m-long highly nonlinear fiber as the Brillouin gain medium. Two three-port circulators are incorporated in the laser configuration to circulate the odd-order Brillouin St okes in the cavity and couple out the initial Brillouin pump and even-order Stokes, which provides the multi-wavelength output with double Brillouin frequency spacings. An advantage of this scheme is that it does not use any active gain medium in the cavity for amplification of S tokes signals, which realizes the wideband tunable laser by eliminating the influence of the se lf-lasing cavity modes. The turning range of the proposed laser totally depends on the working wa velength of the tunable laser and the gain profile of the erbium-doped fiber amplifier (EDFA).A t the Brillouin pump power of 0dBm and the EDFA output power of 20dBm,multi-wavelength with double Brillouin frequency spacings which can be tuned from 1536nm to 1605nm can be achieved.
