In view of that the present high dynamic range (HDR) image′s tone mapp ing algorithms are in low efficiency and poor effect,a tone mapping algorithm based on color appearance m odel and hierarchical model is proposed in this paper.Firstly,the bilateral filter is speeded up by using dis crete Gaussian kernel.Secondly,to solve the color cast problem,the tone compression is processed in RG B color spa ce instead of HPE color space. Finally,the detail layer′s effect is adjusted in the Stevens effect.In ad diti on,the color saturation is enhanced for presenting more details and more real appearance in the image after t one mapping.Com pared with classical algorithms,plenty of experimental results show that the algorithm proposed in t his paper performs best in terms of visual quality and objective indicators.Compared with the original algorithm ,it improves the efficiency by more than 6times,the image entropy by an average of 0.046,the image definitio n by an average of 0.159and the edge keeping degree by an average of 1.811.Subjectively,it reduces the color cas t and halos.The details appear more clearly and the color is more rich and natural as well.The analysis indicates t hat the tone mapping algorithm proposed in this paper has obvious advantages in high efficiency and high visual quality display.It can be used for advanced image editing and display equipment development.
