A new reconstruction algorithm for Moire tomography is applied to the measurements of complex density distributions. The algorithm is derived from the basic deflection formula and based on a modified discrete element reconstructioin technique. The deflected angles are revised directly in iteraction, which is completely different from the transform methods and the existing series expansion methods. The new algorithm is used for the tomographic reconstructions of the density distributions in rocket exhausted jet and hypersonic flow, and some errors of the reconstruction result are discussed.
