Abstract:Based on a three-dimensional(3D) laser scanning system using a light stripe method,Linear Partition Method(LPM) was proposed to calibrate the 3D sensors.First, the principle of the 3D laser scanning system was presented;then based on the pinhole model, the principle and solution procedure of the LPM was deduced in detail;finally,co-planar calibration points formed by a filament target were used to calibrate the 3D sensor, and the comparison was made with the results without using the LPM.The final results indicate that the mean relative error of the measurement without using the LPM is about 1.4%,however,calibration using the proposed method in this paper can improve precision significantly and the mean relative error of the measurement is about 0.4%.The results show that the LPM can not only avoid solving nonlinear equations, but also improve the calibration precision by a simple but efficient way.
