Abstract:A novel high-luminosity LED railway annunciator composed of LED array and lens array was studied and developed. The theory was analyzed and the optical system was designed. The experimental results show that the intensity along the optical axis of the red, yellow, green, blue and white annunciators is higher than 2100 cd,3900 cd, 2800 cd, 400 cd and 3200 cd respectively. The optical performance of this novel annunciator achieves the demands of railway trade. This novel annunciator has the characteristics of high luminosity, energy saving and long life.
