Abstract:Effects of frequency chirping of Gaussian pulses on the optical communication system using midway optical phase conjugation were analyzed.Evolution of the chirped pulses in the system is simulated numerically. The propagation property of the pulses is analyzed. The results show that the initial chirp of Gaussian pulse does not affect compensations for dispersion and nonlinearity effects in the system. The chirp leads to the initial and final narrowing stages of pules. It is useful for optimizing the design of the system and improving compensation performance for pulse waveform distortion.
