The propagation and transformation c ha racteristics of Gaussian spherical beam are analyzed in this paper.It is found t hat such beam does not satisfy the hyperbolic propagation law.The previous misun derstanding that this beam has a maximum divergence angle is caused by the inapp ropriate definition of beam size.
