We presents a theory of ac-coupled burst mode receiver performance that needs no bit to accommodate the variance of the signal amplitude in this paper.The analysis indicates that the sensitivity penalty is larger compared to the other burst mode receiver but with no capacity penalty.The performance of the receiver can also be good with the optimum filter bandwidth.The simulated results match the theory well.
