Abstract:In this paper,the effects of strain on the Bragg wavelength of fiber grating are analyzed,The strain-induced Bragg wavelength shift of a 1 550 nm fiber grating has been investigated experimentally by observing its transmission spectrum and a shift up to 5.02 nm has been achieved.The possibilities of further improvement of the tuning range and the relevant device applications are discussed.We also investigated the bend-induced Bragg wavelength shift of fiber grating,and a shift up to 3.02 nm has been achieved.
