In this paper,the design and preliminary performance characteristics of a compact sealed,rf excited all metal (Al) CO 2 laser was described.The laser has a lot of advantage such as low cost,better cooling,ease of assembly,good stability,long life and ligth weight.With this small structure,we have obtained 15W TEM 00 mode output laser power from 375 mm discharge length.
