提出一种基于弱反射光纤光栅(FBG)串的随机分布 反馈掺铒光纤(EDF)激光器。激光器利用1480nm半导体激光泵浦一 段2m 长的高浓度EDF进行增益放大,由弱反射FBG串提供随机分布反馈,具有阈值 低、线宽窄、效率高和输出稳定等优点。 实验中,在激光器谐振腔的一端用一个反射率为90%的窄带FBG进行波长选择性反射 ,在另一端连接由20个波长相同、反射 率在5‰左右的弱反射FBG组成的FBG串(总反射率为9%)提供随机分布反馈, 在最大输出功率为400mW的1480nm 泵浦激光作用下获得了峰值波长为1549.48nm、阈值功率为3mW、斜率效率达24%的窄线宽 稳定激光输出。在相同泵浦激光功 率下,间隔一定时间,多次测量激光输出光谱,证实该随机分布反馈FBG激光器具 有良好的波长和功率稳定性。 |

A random distributed feedback erbium-doped fiber (EDF) laser based on weak reflectivity fiber Bragg grating (FBG) array has been proposed and experimentally demonstrated.It contains a 2-m-long high concentr ation erbium-doped fiber pumped with a 1480nm laser diode to provide gain and amplification,and an array of weak reflectivity FBGs to achieve random distributed feedback.The laser possesses several important advantages,including low pump threshold,narrow line width,high slope efficiency and stable laser output.In the experiment,an FBG with high reflectivity of 90% is connected to one end of t he laser cavity to reflect a narrow band of light,and an FBG array with 20weak reflectivity FBGs with the same Bragg wavelength and indi vi dual and total reflectivities of 5‰ and 9% respectively is connected to the other end of the laser cavity to provide random distributed feedback.By using a 1480nm pump laser with maximum output power of 400mW,we successfully achieve a stable and narrow line width laser output whose threshold power is 3mW,slope efficiency is 24%,and the peak wavelength is 1549.44nm.The g ood laser output stability is tested by multiple repeating measurements of the laser output spectrum under a fixed pump power at a cert ain time interval. |
